We had a lot planned to do our 3rd day in Vermont but we had to figure out a new way to do it... After driving on that hideous Route 9 to go snow tubing we decided to take a better road up north to Waterbury so we could get to Ben and Jerry's for snowshoeing on time. (yes, you read that right)
SO off we went on Route 7 North, looking for adventure and places to shop.
We didn't see any, but we did see lots of Vermonters. (or Vermontese?) The ride up north took FOREVER since we got stuck behind a truck. Jessica pulled out all of her colorful language - that God we eventually found places to stop.
We made a stop at the Otter Creek Brewing Co somewhere near Middlebury, Chris wasn't to thrilled.
But Danny was since it's one of his favorite types of beer. But then again any type of beer is Danny's favorite type of beer.
We continued north till we got to Shelburne and made a stop at the original Vermont Teddy Bear Factory - they gave you some great places for photo ops.
They had some cool bears inside....
And one that just beg to be loved....
And touched inappropriately....
We didn't take the tour, but Jess got a teddy bear for Lexi.
We got to Waterbury and made a small stop at the Cabot Factory Outlet, but that wasn't as important as the next place....
Ben and Jerry's.
We looked around the visitor center there...
And made a snowman friend outside.
And then it was time... to SNOW SHOE!
Danny was especially excited.
So we snapped on our snow shoes
Listened to the instructions...
And off we went
Danny seemed to enjoy it...
So did I...
Chris did too!
And Jessica - she took to it like a fish to water!
We were done with the walk through the wood and taken to a field to make some fresh tracks.
We all enjoyed this.
We all ran around...
And generally looked like dorks
But we were happy dorks.
Then it was time for the tour!
We couldn't take many pictures, since ice cream must be top secret.
afterward we got to eat lots of it.
And enjoy every lick.
It was a good day.
