It is high time that I redo my list of places to go as I've done a lot since I've created it and added even more! The good news is by the end of the year, as the list currently stands, I'll have done more then 1/2 of my list. If I end up getting the job I'm looking into it may mean a trip out to Colorado, and hopefully some time off for exploring!

Cancun Mexico: Day Four (part one)

Photobucket

On the fourth and last day of our Mexican vacation we went for about a three mile walk along the hotel zone. I made sure I picked a coconut. Don't know what it is about coconuts, they just make me so happy.

Photobucket

We also saw some lizards along our way.

Photobucket

We got back to Aunt Mary's condo after our walk and figured we'd spend some time on the beach before going off on our days trip - back to Miguels restaurant and then to Walmart. (yes, a Mexican Walmart.)

Photobucket

I did enjoy my beach time.

When Aunt Mary was ready to go, we left for Miguel's restaurant.

We had a good lunch, it was a pounded down piece of steak that was breaded and fried. It had a white sauce on it, also very good and some black beans. It doesn't look appetizing, but it was good. Meat was very hard to avoid in Mexico, and I basically gave up the second day of trying not to eat any. If you can't beat them join them.

Now... from here we went to Walmart, this will be a second blog. Why? My camera decided to crap out right before we got to Walmart. I thought it was the batteries, bought some in Walmart and the camera still wouldn't turn on. I ended up buying a disposable camera and used it up all in Walmart. It was also after Walmart that I got horribly sick to my stomach - Montuzuma had me, so it'll be the last part of the trip, you wouldn't want to have seen me after that!

Cancun Mexico: Day Three

Photobucket

The weather was still very windy when we woke up on Friday, our third day in Mexico.

Photobucket

It was obviously much more condusive to wind surfing the laying on a beach...

Photobucket

Photobucket

We started out at the Embacadero - we should have just lived there, and started having a traditional Mexican breakfast, some eggs with either chorizo or ham, and some black beans along with tortillas.

Photobucket

We got in the car after that and drove...

Photobucket

And hit many topays - little Mexican speedbumps.

Photobucket

It took a few hours but soon we found ourselves our in Tulum, a wonderful example of Mayan ruins that are right on the coast. Since we couldn't afford the trip to Chichen Itza, this was the next best bet, and in my eyes, it ended up being even better...

Photobucket

We were greeted by these guys in traditional Mayan costume...

Photobucket

And I saw a mini jaguar ;-)

Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket

And lots of beautiful scenery.

Photobucket

When we were getting into the park, we saw a tehone!

Photobucket

We also took the liberty of a photo op.

Photobucket

Then it was time to enter the park - and we couldn't have even imagined what we were about to see... (I'm not going to caption each picture after this point, I just want you to enjoy them)

Walking around in Tulum was a once in a lifetime experience, and I still can't believe I was there, and that I got to be so close to something that old!

Photobucket

After we were done, we made our way back to the parking lot and got side tracked for some coco frio.

Photobucket

It was so good I had two!

Photobucket

We were also lucky enough to see a traditional performance from Vera Cruz done on the grounds near Tulum. It's a form of pole dancing ;-)

Photobucket

So these guys climb on the top of this pole...

Photobucket

AND SWING DOWN UPSIDE DOWN! Kinda crazy if you ask me.

From Tulum we had a late lunch and went back on the long drive to Cancun. But our day wasn't done there. Aunt Mary wanted to take us for a night out on the town.

We started out at a dinner dance show in Cancun where they do all the different types of dances from Mexico -

The costumes are really beautiful.

I was dragged up there to do the "old man dance". He just thought I was hot, I can't blame him. I know I am.

At the end we were all invited up to dance!

And after there we went to a great Cuban place and had mannnnnyyyyy Mojitos.
